Financial Management for Donor Funded Projects
INTRODUCTION
This Course is designed to enable those involved with projects to become effective and efficient in the acquisition and utilization of funds for development purposes using appropriate techniques and application of accounting and finance principles. Project financial management is a critical prerequisite for successful project execution. Through sound financial management, project management is provided with timely and precise financial information which is essential for effective decision-making as well as corrective action in order to enhance the prospects of timely completion within the planned project budget and scope of deliverables. Furthermore, it provides the comfort needed by the recipient country, lenders and donor community that funds have been used efficiently and for the purposes intended. Participants will be able to competently design and operate project financial management systems in accordance with sound professional standards and the harmonized requirements of donors and their respective governments.
